The power of influence, I want you to start thinking about playing to people’s imagination. So, if I said to you, don’t think of a pink giraffe, what’s just happened? You just thought of a pink giraffe, you can’t help it. That’s the power of suggestion, using influential and persuasive language like embedded commands and action words. You can use that in your email copy, not in a manipulative way, but to encourage people to take action. So again, looking at the ‘don’t think of pink giraffes’ thing, you can say things like ‘you can do that now’ or ‘wouldn’t it be nice to…’ or ‘you are worth it’ or ‘imagine how would that feels’. Really try to embed your message. Don’t try to manipulate, but you can nudge people towards your desired action.
